The content of the course focuses on phytopathological aspects of crops in the Region of Murcia, and eventually, others that may be considered of interest to students, depending on their origin.
In the program, and within the general context of INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT (IPM), priority is given to the description of pests and diseases, monitoring criteria, follow-up and identification of problems, sampling for analytical determinations, population evaluation mechanisms and determination of decisions to adopt, for the best control of the problems.
For each problem and crop, the different control alternatives available at the moment are proposed, providing the knowledge and information necessary so that they can be carried out, whatever is chosen in each circumstance.
It is about considering the phytosanitary problem, from a holistic and general point of view, involving in the considerations, the interrelation between phytopathological problems, crop management, climate change, new technologies, applicable regulations, and any other element that may be related to the topic.
The course is aimed at updating technicians responsible for farms, cooperatives, companies and independent Technical Advisors, taking advantage of the experience of the speakers in the field of Plant Health.
The teaching staff of the course is made up of people with a high technical and professional qualification, with the added endorsement of extensive experience in field work and a high capacity for transmitting knowledge, so that they contribute to the students, in the simpler and more practical, all the knowledge and experience necessary to face with guarantees the control of phytosanitary problems, present and future, that they may have on their farms.
